The Mornington Peninsula has almost 45 kilometers of coastline that is directly exposed to Bass Straight and the Southern Ocean swells, generated by the Roaring Forties. As the result ,the coastline offers some excellent SUP surfing conditions for the experienced SUP surfer. During the occasional flat period, the coastline offers great conditions for the less experienced SUP surfer or paddler. Only a few of the ocean beaches are patrolled by Life Saving Clubs and then only in summer months. Paddlers should check with the locals to make sure conditions are suitable for their abilities.
